We're here.....

We are finally (although I guess only officially after we get
licenses) Raleighans...Raleighites? Whichever we are. This is this
ridiculousness that sits in store for me next week while I'm on spring
break...and that's only part of one room.

Aruba.

Again, I feel like I've been so disconnected from the blog and the internet world in general.  I'm trying to get adjusted to fitting everything in in my life.  Finally, I am taking a little bit of time to update on the elopement any honeymoon.  I won't, of course, go into all the details.

We stayed Saturday to Saturday in Aruba for our honeymoon.  D's parents were so gracious as to allow us to stay at their timeshare there and provide us with flights.  We utilized a honeymoon registry, Honeyfund, which allowed us to do some wonderful activities and eat much more luxuriously on our trip.  Since we were a little more non-traditional with our honeymoon being before our party, we didn't get too many takers on that.  The people who did utilize that mode of giving were very generous.  We're so grateful for that.  It really allowed us to enjoy our honeymoon so much more.

We arrived on Saturday but our wedding was not until Monday.  We were able to explore and enjoy our first sunset.

Sunday consisted of a wonderful day by the beach in an effort to not get sunburnt before the big day :)

Then I will give you a few more unprofessional pictures of the wedding (seriously guys why does it take SO LONG for things to upload?!...my internet?  Although it has improved since I'm in Raleigh).

So this doesn't include any of the wonderful professional pictures.  These were just taken by the wedding planner with my personal camera.  I left the professional pictures with D for our party.  I'll have to tell the stories of my hair at a later date.  Looking at the pictures makes me so happy and gets me really excited about sharing all of our joy with family and friends.

The rest of the time we basked in the idea of telling everyone we were just married and on our honeymoon.  We...

...went horseback riding in the National Park, to the natural pool and on the beach.  Loved.  But I was super sore the next day.

...went to a private, all-inclusive island for a day.  That's right, there was a water park.  We totally played in it.  All-inclusive food and alcohol.

...went ocean kayaking and snorkeling (didn't get pics of that).  But we ended the kayaking by going to Aruba's brewery for beer and lunch.  Probably one of my fav days!

...watched more sunsets.

...found a kitty (who was not feral as he/she appears in this photo) who loved us!  We gave her some milk and she was even waiting on us the next night.

...hung out on the beach.

...and ended our trip with the most amazing dinner on the ocean.

I could not have asked for a more perfect wedding or honeymoon.  Now I am seriously spent by putting up this long post.  I promise once April gets here, I am going to be much better.  Enjoy :)

Sneak preview.

I can not even begin to say how exhausting these past few days have been.  It's honestly taking all I have to get on here and update.  But I have to keep my Athens buddies, like CAP, up to date with the new Raleigh life.  Today was a day that I had great intentions of getting on my computer and researching some lesson plans, but I just have not had the energy!  Transitioning to my new career and a new 5am to 11pm schedule is TOUGH.

A few updates...the wedding was perfect, wonderful, and amazing.  Aruba was also perfect.  I promise to post some blogs specifically about these things (because I know you are DYING for pics and dets :).  D and I got back in Athens last Sunday at 3:30 I think.  We were supposed to get to Atlanta at 11:15a...grr.  Anyway, by 4:30, I was on the road to Raleigh with my car packed full of stuff and the cats.  The cats did surprisingly well.  Bailey was a little whiny especially on the bumpier parts of I-85 near Raleigh.  We made it though!  After unpacking my car and getting semi-settled, I got to bed around 11:30 I think.  Then on to getting up at 5:00am the next day for my first day of school!  The day went well.  I like middle schoolers a lot more than I thought i would ;)  I just kept thinking on Monday how much more I felt like I "fit" in this job.  I know that a school is where I want to be.

It's been a great 3 days at my school.  This doesn't mean I don't think there aren't hard days to come.  I'm expecting them.  Again, posts for other days.  Once I get some furniture in our house and it is more comfortable for me to sit and type on the computer, I'll shoot out some more detailed posts.

Our wedding party is quickly approaching!  I have not even had the opportunity to plan more because I have been so busy and overwhelmed.  I'm headed back to Athens on Friday after school for party planning stuff.  Anyway, I wanted to try and give you guys a sneak peak of our wedding pics :)  Goodnight!

Mrs. W

Well that's now me. We got offiially married and spent a wonderul
honeymoon week in Aruba. Now to the troubles of airports and flight
delays. We've been in an airport and/or on a plane since 12:30p
yesterday. Now we're still waiting because what are the chances that
our new flight from Baltimore to Atlanta is delayed with mechanical
stuff. Delta is letting me down...seriously. I really don't want to
use them again. I obviously have LOTS to catch up on and update.
Whenever we finally get back from Atlanta to Athens, I have to pack up
my car and the kitties and drive a wonderful 5 & a half more hours to
Raleigh. And sleep on an air mattress tonight. And start my new job
EARLY in the am. And I've been up since 5:15 this morning. Glorious
way to end my honeymoon. Regardless, it was wonderful. The elopement
was (almost) exactly what I wanted. I'll be alone in Raleigh for
almost a week so I should have plenty of free time to provide some
pics and dets!

My bouquet of daisies.

Sorry I know I've been out of touch! I've had much less fooling
around time since I've been finishing up work stuff, trying to get
ready for Aruba, and trying to get ready for moving! Sorry! I really
appreciate new followers of my blog :) I promise to do some shout outs
when I have more time!
Today was a BIG day for a couple of reasons...1) it was the last day
of my job! Honestly that's been really surreal. I think it'll only
hit me on the 14th when I'm headed to Raleigh and not preparing for
another Monday at the office. I'm really going to miss some of my
cases and definitely my co-workers. It's the end of an era!
#2...D and I technically (but not officially) got married today! I
was looking at it all as just a paperwork step in the marriage
process. We didn't want to technically get married in Aruba because
of the increased cost and hassle. This was just easier. It ended up
being more than just paperwork. We invited our fams since they
weren't going to be able to be part of the ceremony we're doing in
Aruba. Needless to say, there ended up being lots and lots of
pictures. What a long, but exciting day!
Also, D brought me a bouquet :) he's so sweet.
