I couldn't wait to get back to flipping and earmarking pages, so I was thrilled to get a Barnes & Noble gift card from a student!
I started with It's Kind of a Funny Story. I'm working on it currently. I had it on my Amazon wish list but wasn't quite sure why. I never quite like to read the blurbs on the backs of books because they give away parts of the book. It's the same philosophy I use with movies...enter knowing less and you'll like/love more. I'm about halfway through the book, and I'm undecided on whether I like it or not.
Next up, The Fault in Our Stars. With all the bloggers and buzz about this book, believe it or not, I do not know the story line or plot. I actually have no clue what this book is about, but I've only heard good things.
I've been trying to work on classics more. Treasure Island is on the 1001 books to read before you die list. I was trying to add something to my order to get free shipping. I spotted this special edition classic for $4!
What are you reading in 2013??

I started reading "The Life of Pi" in late 2012 but I can't get through it!! It's been good, but just tiresome at the moment. I wish I could just finish it!
I started reading the Infernal Devices series this week actually and I'm loving it!
Gah! I lost my last comment I think, so I apologize if I post twice! I'm reading The Round House by Louise Erdrich. So far it's a great book, but more on the depressing side so I'll need to read something funny afterward!
I read Glaciers and Water for Elephants in 2013. I'm in a YA Lit class for library school, so I'm reading lots of young books now mixed in with text book chapters.
im still trying to finish pride and prejudice and little women.. so yeah....
The Fault in Our Stars is so good. So so good. And next on my list is "Room." I've heard many good things, and I'm excited to get it started. My book club just finished "The Twelve Tribes of Hattie," and I also highly recommend that!
fault in our stars.... amazing!
So far this year I've read The Host- Stephanie Meyer ( really enjoyed, easy read)
The Happiness Project - Gretchen Rubin ( not a fan, she seemed overly whiney to me) and
This Bright River - Patrick Somerville ( interesting, but not amazing.)
I've just started We need to talk abotu kevin- that my book club is reading.
I'll have to see if my library has any of your reads and give them a look!
I seriously am trying to read more -- I have good intentions but it just isn't working out that well. But, Treasure Island is my husbands favorite book. I have a super old and janky copy that I got from an antique store for him last year :)

I'm looking for some new books to read, so I'll give these a go!
I've been trying to get back into Meditation for the Love of It. And I have Wild sitting on my bedside table, just waiting its turn.
I just finished Warm Bodies and I started Safe Haven. Both movies are coming out next month so I wanted to finish it in time.
The Fault In Our Stars and Gone Girl is up next for me.
i've also heard a lot about the fault in our stars! maybe i'll have to add that one to my list too...
The Fault in our Stars will break your heart, but it's awesome. John Green really gets teenagers in a very human, real way.
I just finished Gone Girl, by the way, and HIGHLY recommend it.
My dad, on the other hand, wants to read every shakespeare play by the end of 2013.
So that's an idea, too.
