VICTORY is ours...for now.

It's no secret that I occasionally talk about my beliefs and probably have a bad habit of blogging too much about it.  But hello...there is no fucking way I could pass up talking about the fact that PROP H8 WAS OVERTURNED!!!!!!!!!!! I mean this is a huge victory!  Judge Vaughn Walker stated,
"Proposition 8 fails to advance any rational basis in singling out gay men and lesbians for denial of marriage license. Indeed the evidence shows Proposition 8 does nothing more than enshrine in the California constitution the notion that opposite sex couples are superior to same sex couples."
Ok, he could not have said it better.

[Even Megan McCain believes in equality for all!]

[Unrelated but...holy shit will you look at that ring?!]

[Soooo cute :)]

[I couldn't resist]

[This just makes me smile! Guilty pleasure was the Girls Next Door...you know before they were replaced]

[This one has me reminiscing Lost]
All of this pictures can be found at NoH8campaign.  Anyway...the battle isn't over.  An email I got from the Human Rights Campaign stated,

"Yesterday, when a California court ruled that Proposition 8 violated the U.S. Constitution, the radical-right "National Organization for Marriage" (NOM) immediately went ballistic, saying the case could "strip millions of Americans of our core civil right to vote..."
The ruling has fueled a right-wing fire that was already raging: NOM is in the midst of holding anti-equality rallies in 20 cities, and rabidly anti-marriage candidates are making headway – including one who's received major support despite his ties to a group that condoned executing gay people."
It is the most unfortunate thing that so many radical "Christians" are focusing on depriving others of marrying the one they love instead of major issues affecting others such a poverty, homelessness, child abuse.  Don't those seem like things Jesus would have been trying to assist with?  We all know ridiculous people will appeal this decision.  Let's keep fighting for equality and rejoicing in our small steps!  One day we'll get away from the massive prejudices being forced on minorities.

This really is awesome. I wish Australia would follow, the government is so backwards.

I saw the best picture on Facebook the other day: "If you don't like gay marriage, blame straight people. They're the ones who keep having gay babies." So good!

Great post!! It's very simple. If you don't support gay marriage, then don't marry another man/woman. It's so sad, if there is a gay couple and one is in the hospital, they wouldn't have visitation rights to be with the love of their life. But their family, the same family who resented them for being gay IS allowed in. So messed up. :(

again, great post.
